It moved to the I/T startup world, matching VCs with entrepreneurs. Now, Capitalist Collective is bringing the idea of speed dating to value investing, bring stock pickers together to swap ideas.
The Set-up: Before the conference you will have the opportunity to submit your best stock idea on Capitalist Collective. We will divide the room into 5 areas divided by sector (technology, telecom, consumer, cyclical & international.) Just go to your selected area and get matched by Capitalist Collective employees. Pitch your stock, and hear someone else’s pitch. The bell rings, rate the idea that was pitched to you and move on to the next match. The 5 stock pickers with the highest stock ratings will each get 1000 Capitalist Collective points, enough for a free ticket to next year's conference! |

Keynote: How Wall Street Looks to A Specialist Clerk from 1955
Speaker: Robert Towbin, Executive Vice President, Stephens Inc. Robert Towbin joined Stephens Inc. in October, 2001. In 2006, he was promoted to Executive Vice President. From January 2000 to November 2001 he was Co-Chairman of C.E. Unterberg, Towbin Co., and from 1995 to 1999 was Senior Managing Director of that firm.
He has a long distinguished career in finance including being the President and CEO of the Russian-American Enterprise Fund (a U.S. government-owned investment company with headquarters in Moscow and New York, and offices in Khabarovsk in the Russian Far East) and being the co-head of Technology Investment Banking of Lehman Brothers, and Vice Chairman and a Director of L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin Holdings Inc. He serves on the Board of Globecomm Systems, Inc.; and Intertrust Technologies. |
